What inspired you to start writing books and publishing your ideas?
I always loved recreating stories in my head and wanting to do something different than I was reading or watching on TV. So, one day I just started writing.
How has blogging helped your writing and published goals?
I’m always looking for ways to share my ideas, so when I started blogging I could tackle various topics and share my thoughts. In time, my blog because the base where I shared my A Story A Day Challenge of 100 word flash fiction stories.
It’s helped me form different ideas and come up with possible future storylines to further expand.
Can you share your personal experience and how they influenced your books?
I was bored in school and refused to learn to read, so my dad took it upon himself to teach me through comic books. I quickly picked it up and we moved onto classics like ‘Treasure Island” and anything by Mark Twain.
I love escaping into imaginary words and if I can help others to escape and forget their troubles for a time then I consider my efforts a success.
What advice would you give to taking part in interviews?
Be yourself. It’s not about what others want to hear or see in us, but connecting with those reading our responses. The more genuine we are, the better we connect and share our message.
Could you explain some of the challenges you faced while writing on difficult topics?
For me, it’s always been about being honest and letting topics serve the story instead of hammering ideas into my readers. We can tell interesting and fun stories and have messages or just write interesting and fun stories.
In my opinion, we tell better stories when we let them flow and follow their natural course.
What strategies do you use to manage writing and publishing under a pseudonym?
The best thing to do is pick the right name. For some it depends on what genre they write. I’m a multi-genre author so I needed one that wasn’t tied to one genre or another.
I lucked out with three pets I had, an Akida/Black Lab and two cats who were sisters. My dog’s name was Casey, and the cats were Byby (Bialois) and Potter. So I came up with the name CP Bialois and I’m the only me in existence.
What message or piece of advice would you like to share with aspiring authors who want to inspire and make an impact through their writing?
Just be yourself and trust in your readers to understand what you’re saying. There’s tons of how to write opinions out there and everyone will have a different take and reason.
Sift through them and use which ones work for you and protect your style. There’s nothing wrong with fine tuning how we write, but it’s important to keep it our style and not a cookie cutter version.
