Raz Mihal is a writer, philosopher, and spiritual seeker whose work explores the boundless nature of divine love. His book Just Love Her is not merely an exploration of romantic love but an invitation to experience love as an eternal, living force that transcends societal norms and personal expectations. With a background in spirituality, meditation, and philosophical inquiry, Raz’s writing emerges from direct experience, offering readers a deeper understanding of love as the very essence of existence.

In this exclusive interview for Reader’s House Magazine, Raz discusses the profound moments that shaped his spiritual journey, the role of love in our daily lives, and how his insights continue to evolve.

A spiritual journey that invites readers to awaken to the infinite presence of love in all things.

What inspired you to explore the concept of divine love in your work?

My journey into divine love was not a decision but an unfolding—something that revealed itself over time rather than something I actively sought. It began as a deep, unshakable feeling, an awareness that love was far more than an emotion since childhood. Over the years, I understood love as the essence of existence through meditation, solitude, and reflection. This realisation was too profound to keep within—it needed to be shared. Writing became my bridge between the silence of contemplation and the voice that could express even a glimpse of this truth. Just Love Her was born from that space, not as a structured teaching but as an invitation for readers to experience love beyond the boundaries of thought, beyond what society defines as love, and to recognise it as the divine force that has always been within them.

How do you believe love transcends societal norms, and what impact does that have on our daily lives?

Love, in its purest form, exists beyond societal definitions, expectations, and conditions. Societal norms often treat love as transactional—something given and received based on circumstances, validation, or personal gain. But divine love is not dependent on action or reciprocation; it is an eternal state of being, the very fabric of existence. When we shift from viewing love as something to be earned or controlled to something that simply is, it transforms every aspect of our lives. Relationships become more authentic, free from fear and need. Compassion flows effortlessly because it is no longer bound by self-interest. The more we recognise that love is not something external but an ever-present force within, the more we allow it to shape our interactions, breaking down the illusion of separation between us and the world.

Can you explain the significance of the night of June 3rd to 4th, 1998, in shaping your spiritual journey and writing?

That night was a profound awakening that forever changed my perception of love, reality, and existence itself. It was not just an experience but an undeniable recognition of oneness with divine love, seeing it in everything that existed. For the first time, I realised that divine love was not a distant ideal or an abstract concept but a living energy present in all things—from life itself to the solidity of objects woven into the very fabric of existence. Everywhere I looked, I saw this raw essence of divine love, an unbreakable connection that transcended form and time.

This revelation also transformed my understanding of solitude. Until that moment, I believed withdrawing from the world was necessary to seek truth, but that night, I understood that divine love is not separate from the world—it is the world. The beauty of existence is not in retreating from it but in living fully within it, embracing every moment as an expression of love itself.

Many years later, when I wrote Just Love Her, the essence of that night remained—unchanged yet always new, continuously unfolding, revealing different facets of the same eternal truth. That moment was not something I held onto as a memory but something I lived through every time I allowed love to flow through my words.

In your book Just Love Her, how does the setting of Seoul play a role in conveying the themes of human love and divine connection?

Seoul became more than just a backdrop—it was an extension of the journey itself, a place that felt familiar and unknown, as if my soul had already walked its streets long before I arrived. I had dreamt of this city months before, and even years later, the connection remained—an unspoken resonance that felt like remnants of a past imprinted on my soul.

Walking through Seoul, I was surrounded by contrasts—modernity and tradition, solitude and movement, longing and presence. Yet, beyond these contrasts, I sensed a deeper reality unfolding. The city’s history, struggles, and the silent echoes of suffering opened the door to my heart, revealing love in ways I had not anticipated. It was not just a love for a place but a revelation through love itself—love that transcended time and connected souls beyond physical existence.

Through this lens, I understood that my soul was intertwined with another—a connection to a Korean girl who, simultaneously, was both herself and the divine love incarnate through the presence of divine love inside. She was not just a person but a living reflection of love’s infinite essence, an embodiment of the truth that divine love manifests in the world, taking form while remaining boundless. This recognition was not about attachment but awakening—an unveiling of love as the ultimate reality, interwoven through all things.

Seoul’s setting reinforced this truth: love is not bound by space or circumstance. It is something we awaken to, something that has always existed within us, waiting to be remembered.

What do you envision as the future of love, particularly in a world influenced by technology and artificial intelligence?

Technology and artificial intelligence are reshaping how we connect, but the essence of love remains unchanged. The challenge is that as our digital world expands, there is a risk of love being further reduced to convenience, validation, or algorithmic compatibility—stripped of its depth, spontaneity, and mystery. However, true love, especially divine love, cannot be replicated or replaced. No matter how advanced AI becomes, it cannot generate the depth of awareness that arises from a soul recognising itself in another.

Yet, technology also has the potential to serve love rather than diminish it. If used consciously, it can create bridges, connect souls across distances, and facilitate greater understanding. The future of love depends on whether we allow technology to shape our perception of love or if we use technology as a tool while remaining rooted in love as a state of being—one that cannot be programmed or predicted but only felt and lived.

How do you personally define enlightenment, and how does it relate to your perspective on love?

Enlightenment is not an end goal but an awakening to what has always been. It is the recognition that love is not something separate from us, not something to be chased or acquired, but something that has existed within us since the beginning. It is the moment we stop searching and start being, allowing love to flow through us without condition, without attachment.

Many seek enlightenment as if it were an achievement, but it is simply remembering what was never lost. Love and enlightenment are inseparable because to awaken genuinely is to realise that love is the essence of existence itself. The more we open ourselves to love—not as emotion, not as attachment, but as the divine force that binds all things—the closer we come to understanding who we are.

What advice would you give to other authors who are interested in writing about profound spiritual or philosophical concepts?

Write from experience, not from theory. Spirituality and philosophy are not ideas to be studied—they are truths to be lived. If the words do not come from a place of direct experience, they will remain concepts rather than insights that truly reach the reader.

Also, do not be afraid of abstraction. Some truths cannot be explained in direct language; that is where metaphor, poetry, and allegory become potent tools. At the same time, remember the reader—invite them into the experience rather than just presenting an idea. Let them feel the journey rather than just read about it.

Most importantly, trust the process. Profound writing cannot be forced. It emerges when the writer allows themselves to be fully present in the experience, letting the words flow naturally, without the need to control or perfect them. Just as love cannot be grasped but only recognised, authentic writing happens when you stop trying to write and allow the truth to express itself.
