You took a leap of faith by publishing your first book on Amazon in 2017 without telling anyone. What inspired you to take that risk, and how did it feel to see your work resonate with readers so quickly?
Writing under a pen name gave me anonymity and courage to try something new. Why not go for it? The hardest part was keeping quiet as readers started downloading my book. I didn’t expect anyone to find it, but I’d connected with a highly craved genre.
With over 150 books written, you’ve built a diverse catalogue that spans contemporary, paranormal, dark, and erotic romance. How do you keep your ideas fresh and maintain a balance between the sweet and steamy elements in your stories?
The kink in my stories makes it steamy. The emotional connection I strive for between the readers and the main characters is the component that makes people read the next book. This genre is very versatile. It allows me to play with almost any trope.
Steele: Shadowridge Guardians MC introduces readers to a world of rough, commanding men and the sassy women who challenge them. What draws you to the motorcycle club romance genre, and how do you craft the chemistry between your strong, protective heroes and their spirited counterparts?
Three authors write their own books in this series. When we decided to collaborate, we asked polled our Facebook reader groups. They chose MC romance and we got busy. I was elected to go first and knew I had to craft Steele to grab everyone’s attention. No pressure, right? Daddying up an MC romance was fun. The bikers are so dominant with a dark side. Getting their attention requires uniqueness.
The Little Cakes series offers a unique blend of romance with a Daddy-Little dynamic set against the backdrop of a cupcake bakery. What inspired this series, and how do you weave together the elements of sweetness and dominance to create these heartwarming stories?
Paige Michaels and I cowrite this series. We put our heads together and plotted. The idea of a bakery where people could meet and share a favorite flavor of cupcakes came to us. We added a local adult club to add spice to the sweet treat.
Your books often feature dominant Daddies and their Littles, exploring dynamics that might be unfamiliar to some readers. How do you approach writing these relationships to ensure they are both relatable and respectful, while still capturing the fantasy elements that your fans love?
When I first started writing, this was a taboo genre. Now, it’s more mainstream. It’s a dynamic that either attracts you or not and that’s okay. I don’t like WWII books. We all have our preferences. I make sure to add clues in the blurb that allow readers to make informed selections.
With the upcoming Daddypalooza, you’ve teased even more exciting stories for your readers. Can you share a bit about what fans can expect from this event, and how it reflects your growth and evolution as a romance author?
LOLOL! The Daddypalooza is only happening in my mind. There are so many possible stories bouncing around in my head it does seem like a party. There is, however, Dirty Daddies Do Vegas in 2025. It’s the first prodominantly Daddy author con as far as I know. I can’t wait!
